This Sensory Tatami Rug is not only super stylish and contemporary, they're made from the highest density foam available. Our Snuggle Rugs expand to a super thick 35mm and the foam is a 35D (almost double the density of most brands on the market). *No need for underlay or extra pads.

Mothers Love- By Studio Lowana

Although unable to wholly encapsulate the intricate beauty of a mother's love for her child, this piece attempts to signify the mighty strength of it. The two circles represent both mother and child. They reside beside the focal sun, whose rays connect the two, symbolising the special bond that they share, whilst also tributing the child as the light of the mother's life that warms her, gives her energy and makes her shine. The hilly birthing caves surrounding the opposing borders represent the journey to motherhood and encourage the cherishing of all memories (including the ups and downs) created throughout this unique journey, with her child by her side.  

Biography:

Kamilya Lowana White is a proud First Nations artist, born, raised and creating artworks in Naarm (Melbourne) on Wurundjeri Country. Ever since she was a child, she has been passionate about art, and enjoys creating with and exploring a range of techniques and mediums. Stemming from her Kija Bardi heritage, Kamilya is particularly interested in creating contemporary First Nations paintings, inspired by the land, storytelling and relationships with others, all depicted with a modern twist. Kamilya finds this specific art style therapeutic and uses it to express and ground herself, while deepening her connection with culture.

  • Expansion: Allow 48–72 hours for the rug to fully expand after unpacking. Wrinkles will start to settle within 7-14 days. 
  • Wrinkles: For smoothness, use a low-heat iron with a damp cotton towel over the rug or steam it.

**Note: Your rug has been vacuum-sealed for shipping and may take a several days to fully expand to its original shape and softness. We strongly recommend ironing on mid head with a damp cotton towel over the top to ensure most creases are removed. Please note; deeper creases may remain for a while however will reduce over time with use. **
